We’re not exactly sure what the Italian translation is for ‘Dude – Where’s My Car!?’, but one unlucky hire car company owner is currently spitting chips after some crafty thief made off with their Lamborghini Huracán Spyder. The highly sought-after supercar was apparently hired by an Irish woman with a fake ID. When it was evidently never returned, the poor bastard who let the ersatz customer drive away realized he’d fucked up and checked its GPS tracker.
The car travelled from its home in Switzerland to London overnight, where the thieves ostensibly removed the tracking device, making finding the auto almost an impossible task.
The black market for supercars in Europe is huge, generating millions and millions of dollars in black market revenue each year. Most of the stolen cars are shipped to Africa, the Middle East and south-east Asian nations, where demand is high and regulation far less stringent than the west.
The owner of this particular Lambo is offering $5000 Swiss Francs (almost A $7000) for the safe return of their beloved Huracan, though given how slick these operations are known to be, the chances look pretty damn slim.
