Adding fuel to Dubai’s growing obsession with all things supercar is the launch of Arabian Gazelles – the country’s first female-only luxury supercar club.
It’s time to dispel the clichés of yesteryear, that the supercar industry is solely a man's domain, says club founder Hanan Mazouzi. “We are supercar enthusiasts and bonafide drivers who share the same passion and rush behind the wheel as men do. We refuse to sit pretty on passenger seats or cheerlead from the pits.”

“I always had a passion for driving high-performance cars,” she says. When Mazouzi started to attend supercar test drives and track days, she was often surprised at the lack of women. “Why are women overlooked by this male-dominated industry? Everyone just seems to accept that and no one does anything about it.”
Aside from Mazouzi, there are 80 other women in the club, however, “there are many more on the waiting list.” She says that to join the club, every woman has to be a supercar aficionado. “She has to drive and own a supercar such as a Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé, McLaren, Aston Martin, Maserati, Bugatti.” Mazouzi has her own take on labelling a supercar, which she deems “a combination of design, acceleration, speed, style and rarity”.
“Owning and driving a supercar on a daily basis awakens all your senses. They are fun, empowering and can really build your confidence,” she says.
The motto of the group is: “Life is too short to drive boring cars.”
