One of the best things about the iconic GoPro is how bloody easy it is to use. The hardy action cam shoots in 4K, streams to Wi-Fi, features voice control and to top it all, boasts a build quality so robust it gives a late-90s Nokia a run for its money. One of the easiest features though, the ability to edit your videos on the go, just got a whole lot easier, thanks to the innovation of QuikStories.
Once you’ve installed the GoPro and the Quik apps, you can easily transfer video footage across from your GoPro Hero5 to your smartphone via Wi-Fi and start editing. The app automatically selects the ‘best bits’ from each shot (or in true GoPro style you can opt to shoot in small snippets at a time which will make this easier). You can incorporate image and video files already on your phone and options available for transitions between shots are broadly ranging from smooth fades to, yes, star-swipes.
QuikStories provides you with a good selection of audio tracks to enhance your overall video, but you can also add your own with no hassles. All up, it’s not Final Cut Pro, but it’s a damn fine way to get high-res action shots uploaded on the go without having to faff around in an expensive digital suite, and is all the editing software you’ll ever need for Instagram and Facebook videos that are guaranteed to get all the likes.
