The only dream for most car lovers that outweighs that of owning a Ferrari, is to own a vintage Ferrari. While other marques have chequered pasts with some absolute lemons in their retrospective showrooms, Ferrari is a company that have consistently produced beautiful machines as visually appealing as they are technically ahead of the curve. They’re also a pleasure to drive.
This über rare example of a 275 GTB/4 by Scaglietti is one of the cleanest and most pristine we’ve ever seen and is set to go to auction with RM Sotheby’s in Monterey next month. Having had more owners than a banknote in its life, it’s still in great nick and is one to keep under lock-and-key a-la Ferris Bueller’s mate’s dad.
Having seen a restoration in 2011, which refreshed the paintwork and re-trimmed the ageing interior, there are some cosmetic elements which have been improved considering its age, but under the hood is completely original, with matching manufacturers numbers on all equipment, including the V12 engine.
No price indication is offered, but if we had to guess, we’d say that this set of vintage wheels are going to pretty fucking exxy, whoever the lucky buyer is.
